Yes, we think we have decided on a name. We've been calling baby, Hayes for quite some time now so we will let you know if anything changes. As for now, Jace felt baby Hayes for the first time last night! It was so fun. We were just sitting there and I said Jace he is moving so he put his hand on my belly (for like the 50th time) except this time it was successful! He felt him kick. Both of our eyes lit up like did you feel that? Was that it? And it sure was! I am so glad cuz Jace has been wanting to feel him and now he finally has!
I haven't been awesome at pictures, but this is me at 16 weeks
Then this was me at 20 weeks ish
It has been a crazy ride from16-20 weeks. The nausea is pretty much gone, except for when I brush my teeth; but the worst thing right now is the back aches and the heart burn. My throat really feels like it is on fire at times. And the back aches feel like I broke my pelvis again. I'm really worried about how my hips will hold up, but I guess we will see.
I'm starting to get really big and I'm right in the "tweener" stage. Maternity clothes are a little big, but my clothes are out of the question. My only advice for all you girls out there is never ever ever get a boob job haha. I don't want to go into much detail, but your belly is not the only thing preparing for baby to come. Some may think this is an awesome thing, but I have never been so uncomfortable in my life! To think I still have 4 months to go. And my body is like 90% legs, my waist is very short and small, so I have a feeling my belly is going to get so so big! How crazy.
So far I've gained about 20 pounds. I don't really feel uncomfortable sharing this after all the literature I've read on pregnancy, because each woman differs and it is important to gain HEALTHY weight when you are pregnant. Sometimes I will get dizzy throughout the day and realize I haven't eaten in a while and then I quickly remember that baby needs to eat! Gaining weight is such a crazy part of pregnancy, and in my book What to Expect When Expecting it explains that your face and feet and legs can swell, where the weight is distributed, and so much more. Because I was so active before, seeing my weight continue to increase is really hard to take in, but I am learning that it's for the baby.
I am currently about 22 weeks pregnant and have finally come to terms with that fact. Bigger clothes, tired more often, eating a little more, etc. I did a spin class the other day and it was so fun! My book also says that cardio is one of the best exercises for pregnant women, so I've been walking this track lately too and it is so fun. The only thing I'm having trouble with is what to eat. I understand fruits, veggies, protein, and calcium. But I have to pack lunches every day which usually consists of a pb and j or some sort of sandwich. I am so sick of sandwiches and I'm sure there are other foods that are better calories for baby. Any suggestions?!
Here is baby Hayes at 21 weeks. The first picture is his legs and the second one is his wee wee :) The Doc said he has big feet, big cheeks, and a big wee wee haha awesome I guess? I don't really know how to respond to that; Jace was proud!
Thanks for reading,
Reilee
