I have always been opposed to reading books because I don't like to put myself in another world; it just isn't real enough for me. But I love real books; motivational, inspirational, self help I love them! I just read this book called Who Moved My Cheese and it took me about an hour, and it has changed my life. In fact, it is about change, and accepting it and anticipating it and it was the most helpful, wonderful, gem I've read in a long time. The summary of the book is this: There are 4 creatures, 2 mice named sniff and scurry, and 2 littlepeople named Hem and Haw. They are constantly moving through this maze trying to find Cheese. Cheese has different meaning to each creature. It could mean happiness, more spirituality, security etc. Well the mice are constantly aware of the change; that once you eat all the cheese, it goes away and you have to move and find more. The 2 littlepeople get stuck and while they are eating the cheese and it is slowly getting smaller and smaller, they don't even notice because they are so stuck on entitlement, and how hard they worked to get there. Well when the cheese is finally gone, they are in shock! Who had the nerve to move their cheese? They earned it didn't they! Why is this happening to them? Constantly pointing fingers. One of them decides to move on, the other stays in the rut thinking the cheese will come back and he is willing to die waiting than go out and risk facing his fears. It is an amazing book! It will change your entire outlook on life, rearing children, getting a new job, relocating your family, becoming empty nesters. It is just what you need, and I dare you to read it and tell me it wasn't!
Love,
Rei Hoff
